New Hybrid Powertrains for the Audi Q5

After being announced for launch in October 2024, the new Audi Q5 e-Hybrid and Q5 Sportback e-Hybrid will arrive, two plug-in hybrid versions of the German mid-size SUV.

These plug-in powertrains are based on a 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine and are available in two power levels: 299 or 367 hp. These powertrains are essentially identical to those currently available in the new Audi A5, which, like the Q5 and Q5 Sportback, is based on the Premium Fuel Combustion Platform (PPC).

These powertrains consist of a 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with 185 kW (252 hp) and a Miller-cycle electric motor, for a total output of 299 or 367 hp. The less powerful version accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 6.2 seconds, while the 367 hp version takes 5.1 seconds.

The car is equipped with a four-speed automatic transmission and a super-fast four-speed manual, and both engines reach a top speed of 250 km/h.

The battery capacity is 25.9 kWh gross and 20.7 kWh net, providing an electric range of 100 km for the 299 hp Audi Q5 e-Hybrid and 94 km for the 367 hp e-Hybrid (with a top speed of 140 km/h).

Aesthetically, nothing has changed, both inside and out, while luggage capacity has been modified, reduced due to the presence of the batteries, a common feature of electric and hybrid vehicles.

The new Audi Q5 e-Hybrid is expected to be delivered in the fall of 2025.
