
The Algerian government seeks to create a real industry in the field of cars and vehicles by facilitating investment in the field of spare parts that are part of the various mechanical industries.
The latest news coming from the Algerian Ministry of Industry according to a press release published on Sunday March 9 2025, which stated “Within the framework of strengthening economic cooperation and developing the vehicle industry in Algeria, the Minister Mr. Saifi Gharib, received at the headquarters of the Ministry of Industry a delegation from the Omani Bahwan Holding Group, accompanied by representatives of the Korean Hyundai Motor Company”.
According to the same press release that we reviewed, it also stated, “During this meeting, ways of cooperation between the two parties were discussed and a joint roadmap was developed aimed at achieving the local manufacture of vehicles, in line with the aspirations of the Algerian citizen and in accordance with the directives of the country’s highest authorities aimed at developing the mechanical industry sector and enhancing investment.
The Omani step represented by the Bahwan Group is an important step in the field of creating a real car industry in Algeria, and the repeated statements of Algerian officials suggest that the start of the establishment of a factory for the Korean brand Hyundai will be soon, especially after the repeated visits made by representatives of the Omani group and the Korean brand Hyundai for manufacturing cars.
