



Minister of Industry, Mr. Sefi Ghrib, received on Monday, March 24, 2025, at the Ministry’s headquarters, the Vice President of Astroid, owner of the American bus and truck brand ENC, along with their Algerian partner.
During the meeting, representatives of the brand expressed their great satisfaction with the general investment climate in Algeria, especially in light of the new approach being taken by the Ministry of Industry in the vehicle manufacturing sector.
They indicated that this encouraging atmosphere prompted them to request a meeting with the Minister to express their intention to invest in Algeria in accordance with the Ministry’s roadmap.
After listening to the presentation given by the delegation, the Minister emphasized the need to leverage the national network of spare parts manufacturers to increase local integration, noting the importance of supporting local manufacturers in training and certification procedures.
For their part, representatives of the brand affirmed their full commitment to implementing a qualitative project in line with the Algerian state’s policy in this area.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Minister urged the project owners to expedite the necessary procedures with the relevant authorities, stressing that the Ministry’s doors are open to all manufacturers.
ENC (formerly known as El Dorado National–California, from which the company’s name is derived) is an American heavy-duty bus manufacturer founded in 1975. Its headquarters and main plant are located in Riverside, California, and it is owned by Rivaz Inc.
