
Chinese automaker Chery Group showcased 53 models from its five brands—CHERY, EXEED, JETOUR, ICAR, and LUXEED—at the 21st Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition, reflecting the company’s expanding presence in the Chinese and global markets.
Chery unveiled 16 models from its main brand, including the redesigned QQ compact electric car, the Fengyun A9 sedan, and the Tiggo 9L concept SUV.
The Chery model lineup includes internal combustion engines, hybrid vehicles, and battery electric vehicles, positioning the Chinese company to compete in all categories.
Exceed introduced the 2025 Exceed electric sedan, the Jetour Interstellar Guardian, designed for off-road use, iCar revealed new color options for the V23, along with pickup and convertible concept models.
Chery announced global sales of 620,000 units in the first quarter, including 255,000 exports outside China, its brand value is estimated at approximately $3.45 billion, ranking 45th in China and among the top three Chinese automakers globally.
Chery claims that the updated QQ electric car incorporates “personalization features” and “user-oriented development initiatives.” The car has been well-received in many countries due to its compact size, efficient engine, and affordable price.
The Fengyun A9 sedan includes a high-performance version that accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in four seconds, and a four-seat version with improved rear seats and a refrigerated compartment, the Tiggo 9L SUV features AI-based chassis systems and a three-row layout.
Chery also showcased the Kunpeng hybrid system, the Jetour G900 amphibious vehicle, and prototype flying vehicles, the number of models on display at the Shanghai Auto Show demonstrates Chery’s ability to innovate and diversify its models and engines to meet the needs of most automotive markets in China and around the world.
Chery has been one of China’s largest automobile exporters for 22 consecutive years, having sold more than 16 million vehicles globally. The company now designs its products specifically for specific international markets.
It’s worth noting that Chery Group has launched several investments in Algeria to establish factories for its main and subsidiary brands. Last week, the company announced the imminent commencement of work on the Jetour factory in eastern Algeria, in addition to another factory for the production of OMODA and JAECOO vehicles.
Algerian state television announced the imminent launch of Chery’s car manufacturing project in Algeria, a senior official at the Chinese company was asked about the matter and stated that Chery’s factory for the main brand would start operations soon, and that the only reason for the delay was the completion of the necessary paperwork for the project.
