It appears that the Chinese giant BYD is still eager to expand further, as reports indicate the company’s desire to open a third factory in Europe, with Germany likely to be the host country.
This news comes after Executive Vice President Stella Li, admitted during an interview that BYD is looking to open a third factory in the European market, but has not yet determined the location.
BYD currently has two production plants in Europe. The first is in Hungary and will begin operating this year, while the second is in Turkey and is scheduled to begin production in 2026.
The Chinese company’s goal in opening factories in Europe ,is to further penetrate the European market and avoid the tariffs imposed by the European Union on electric vehicles produced in China.
The reason for choosing Germany over France and Italy, appears to be their support for tariffs.
