Stellantis Algeria announced the completion of the first batch of employees for the expansion project of the Italian brand Fiat’s factory in the Tafraoui region of Oran Province, which is dedicated to welding and painting operations.
A statement issued by the company stated that the recruitment process focused on forming a team for the factory’s assembly and painting workshops. It confirmed that this expansion, based on the CKD system, will allow for the recruitment of 550 new specialized workers upon completion, in addition to the 1,650 employees currently working on site.
The statement emphasized that this step represents clear progress in organizing CKD activities and reflects the rapid growth of Stellantis’ industrial project in Algeria.
Recent photos of the Fiat Algeria factory, published a few days ago, revealed significant progress in the expansion of the painting and welding departments, which the group said are progressing at a rapid pace.
The statement also indicated that the project will rely on advanced robotic equipment, in addition to employing specialized personnel who will undergo training programs abroad.
It’s worth noting that Fiat Algeria is the only company supplying new cars to the Algerian market, following the ban on imports and the requirement for local manufacturing for car dealerships, Chery, Jetour, Omoda, and Jaecoo announced last week the commencement of projects to establish car factories in Algeria.
