This morning, Saturday, March 22, 2025, Mr. Issa Aziz Bouras, Governor of Aïn Defla, received a delegation from the Chinese automobile company Great Wall Motors, accompanied by its Algerian partner, SARL GWMA, a subsidiary of the Cevital Group.
The meeting was attended by the Chief of Staff, the Director of Industry, the Director of Trade, and the Director of the State Employment Agency. During the meeting, visions and ideas were exchanged for establishing an automotive industry in Aïn Defla, particularly the implementation of the project to launch a car production complex at the former Cevital commercial center located in the municipality of Aïn Defla.
In this context, representatives of the automotive brand expressed their belief that the Aïn Defla region was chosen for this project due to its assets and qualifications, as well as its important strategic location as a major transit point between the western and central regions of the country, and its availability of a distinguished road network, such as the East-West Highway, making it an attractive area for hosting this project.
The governor affirmed that the province’s various agencies and institutions will provide all necessary support, facilities, and assistance within the framework of applicable regulations to ensure the success of this project, which will contribute to wealth creation, the creation of new jobs, and economic activity in the province. The delegation then inspected the proposed project site.
For your information, the Chinese brand Great Wall Motors has a strong reputation in the Algerian market, with its vehicles characterized by quality, reliability, and reasonable prices. This will make the Chinese brand’s project in Algeria a highly successful one.
Great Wall Motors is a giant Chinese company that includes several other automotive brands. A delegation from the parent company visited the Algerian Ministry of Industry and met with Minister Sefi Ghrib. Today’s visit to Aïn Defla province is a step to inspect the potential site for the factory.
