German automaker Mercedes-Benz, announced that it is shifting its focus to medium- and large-sized vans and ending its involvement in the small vans segment.
This decision comes after Reuters reported that the company plans to discontinue production of the Citan and T-Class models.
According to a statement from the German company, it will focus on growth in profitable segments to further improve its products, and will maintain the medium- and large-sized vans segments for the future.
The Citan commercial vehicle, and T-Class passenger vehicle models, will be discontinued in the middle of next year, along with their electric versions.
This decision marks the end of years of cooperation with French automaker Renault in this segment.
