Officially, the Sovac factory will be converted into a new Hyundai factory

It appears that the Hyundai factory will officially be located in the western province of Relizane, specifically in the former factory of the Sovac group, which assembled cars for the German brand Volkswagen and was recently reclaimed by the state. Mr. Batahar Lazreq, a member of the National Assembly, announced on his Facebook page the news of the establishment of a Hyundai factory in the province.

Mr. Lazreq wrote, “Officially, the Hyundai factory will open in the Sidi Khattab industrial zone, on the site of the former Volkswagen factory.” The attached photo shows the member of the National Assembly with the Minister of Industry, Mr. Saifi Ghrib. This news is considered official. This government move to revive factories that previously assembled cars is likely to accelerate the launch of car manufacturing projects.

Recovering dormant car factories is an important step towards accelerating the launch of industrial projects in the country. Instead of starting from scratch, investors are building a semi-finished factory, similar to what happened with the former Kia factory, which will become a factory for the Chinese brand Jetour.

For your information, according to circulating news, Hyundai intends to enter the Algerian market in the first phase by producing two models locally. The first is a small family SUV, aimed at the middle class, and the second is a small, compact, low-cost sedan.
