
The German Volkswagen Group, announced an increase in its electric vehicle sales in Western Europe, with deliveries of battery-powered electric vehicles in Europe more than doubling in the first quarter of this year.
The German group sold 150,000 vehicles, compared to 74,400 in the same period last year, due to a recovery in demand for electric vehicles.
The German Volkswagen Group added that orders for its electric and combustion-engine vehicles increased by 29% in Western Europe compared to last year.
Volkswagen faces significant challenges, most notably intense competition from automakers, particularly Chinese ones, but the most significant challenge currently is finding a solution to the new US tariffs imposed by Trump on everyone.
